The day has finally arrived when the new FX Independence will be available in the UK. Designed by legendary Swedish gunmaker, Fredrik Axelson, the Independence is a single stroke pneumatic. Each time you fire the rifle, one pump from the side handle will replace the air used. A large manometer dial is used because it is more accurate and Frederick says that by topping the air up after every few shots you can keep the air cylinder at its sweet spot. The magazine is indexed by a sidelever because it gives a greater mechanical advantage over a bolt action and there is no risk of double loading the rifle. We have had glimpses of this special rifle at previous IWAs, but Frederick was reluctant to put it into production until it was as near perfect as humanly possible. The rifle will be distributed by Deben Group in the next couple of months and it is thought that it will retail at around �1,000.
