In these commercially cautious days, where high street shops seem to close with alarming regularity, it’s great to see genuine success, and you can see just that, and so much more, at Ronnie Sunshines.

Just recently we reported how the Berkhamsted-based gunshop was not only nominated for the ‘Best Retailer of the Year’ award from the Hertfordshire Federation of Small Businesses, but actually won their category.

Dave Craze and Neil Wells, the partnership behind Ronnie Sunshines, were over the moon. The award was presented at a black tie event where Dave was quick to praise the loyalty of his customers. “Without them we’re nothing,” said Dave, “I’d like to thank them all.”

According to Dave, customer support is crucial to ensure that local gunshops survive and he is justly proud of what he does, and of our sport. This award from outside the gun trade proves, he said, that our sport can be promoted in a positive light.

Dave isn’t resting on his laurels, though. After a recent expansion of his premises at Canalside, Northbridge Road, further expansion is underway. The business has recently taken another unit adjacent to the first two and this will be used for the all-important service and repairs. It is now an accredited Daystate service agent and work can be carried out on most types of airguns, shotguns and firearms.

However, the Ronnie Sunshines story isn’t just based in the Berkhamsted shop; there’s also a thriving website (www.ronniesunshines.com) that sells all the accessories you could need associated with shooting, bushcraft survival, and the outdoor life.

Loyalty

Ever one for innovation, Dave has even created a loyalty points scheme to save the customer money. Each time you buy something online, rewards are added to your online account, and for every 100 ‘Ronnie Rewards’ you accumulate, £1 will be deducted from your next purchase.

Ronnie Sunshines has taken the time to get their unique business blueprint right and as a result have won numerous awards, the Retailer of the Year being just the latest.

Franchise

Now, in its boldest move yet, Ronnie Sunshines is allowing you to become part of its success story and own a Ronnie Sunshines franchise. Dave and his team will give you all the training and help you need to set up your shop. For more details you can visit their website or call them.

It’s good to know that our sport, and its customers has such a successful, proven resource and one that is recognised by the wider community. Well done Ronnie! n
